MEET THE TEAM
Aslan Realty Group produces results with our greatest asset – our human capital. We have assembled a seasoned team of professionals whose overriding philosophy is to steward and enhance real estate projects. This is accomplished through a comprehensive and disciplined approach during underwriting, due diligence, capital structuring, construction management, property management and asset disposition. Aslan team members are responsible for the oversight of all functional real estate areas.
Mr. Schafer is Founder and President of Aslan Realty Group. Mr. Schafer’s efforts focus on sourcing capital, structuring transactions and developing business strategies. Under Mr. Schafer’s direction, Aslan has participated in transactions in excess of $2.5 Billion.
Mr. Schafer has over thirty years of management experience within the real estate industry. During his career he has managed and/or transacted over $3.5 Billion in real estate assets. Prior to founding Aslan Realty Group, Mr. Schafer co-founded and served as the President of Lyon Capital Ventures, a multi-family investment and development company based in Southern California.
Mr. Schafer graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Miami University and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. He enjoys fitness, golf and Cincinnati Bengals football. He has been married to his wife Barb for 35 years and has three adult daughters.
Mr. Rakow is the Chief Operating Officer at Aslan Realty Group and a founding Partner in the firm. Mr. Rakow’s efforts focus primarily on sourcing capital, asset acquisition and divestitures, as well as corporate operations. Since joining the firm, Aslan has participated in transactions in excess of $2.5 Billion.
Mr. Rakow has thirty years of experience within the real estate, investment banking and medical device industries. He began his career at Bristol Myers-Squibb Co, where he held senior level sales and marketing positions in the medical device divisions. Thereafter, Mr. Rakow transitioned into Investment Banking where his responsibilities included extensive interaction with Wall Street investment firms, venture capital and small capitalization companies. He has participated in numerous Private Placement, IPO and Secondary Offerings.
Mr. Rakow graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Marquette University. He enjoys fitness, road biking, boating and supporting USC & Green Bay Packers football. He has been married to his wife Peggy for 30 years and has two adult daughters. Mr. Rakow is also fluent in German.
Mr. Cahill is a founding Partner at Aslan Realty Group. Mr. Cahill’s responsibilities include evaluating and underwriting acquisition opportunities, managing property renovations and third-party property management companies, as well as executing property business plans.
Mr. Cahill has nearly thirty years of management and rehabilitation experience in the multi-family industry. The direct experience of managing daily operations for over 5,000 apartment units has developed and sharpened his abilities for determining value creating renovation opportunities and market positioning. Mr. Cahill’s efforts in supervising the rehabilitation process on over thirty properties, approaching 10,000 units, includes market analysis, site considerations, acquisition underwriting, building integrity issues, code regulations, planning, finance and extensive interaction with local and state agencies. Since joining Aslan, Mr. Cahill has participated in over a $1 Billion of real estate transaction volume.
Mr. Cahill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin. While at the University of Texas, Mr. Cahill helped anchor the Longhorn defense as an outside linebacker. He has been married to his wife Mona for 29 years and has three adult children.
Mr. Egner is the Senior Vice President of Construction for Fortress Construction Services, an affiliate of Aslan Realty Group, and joined the company in early 2007. Mr. Egner is responsible for all areas of construction management for Aslan Realty Group projects in the United States. In addition, Mr. Egner provides assistance to acquisition and asset management groups, consulting on budgets and the bidding process, enabling Aslan Realty Group to achieve acquisition and operational objectives.
Mr. Egner has over forty years of experience in the construction industry, including managing people and projects both in the field and at the office. He has extensive experience with all types of multi-family construction from garden style to mid-rise and high-rise, including experience with thousands of units of multi-family rehabilitation projects. Prior to joining Aslan Realty Group, Mr. Egner was Vice President of Operations for American Constructors, Inc. At American Constructors, Mr. Egner managed in excess of $150 million per year of multi-family construction projects. Throughout his career, Mr. Egner has managed well over $1 Billion in construction expenditures and executions.
Mr. Egner graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Spring Garden College, Philadelphia. He has been married to his wife Joanne for 32 years and has two adult children.
Mr. Warbrick is the Vice President of Finance and Accounting for Aslan Realty Group and joined the company in 2012. In this role Mr. Warbrick is responsible for the supervision and review of all financial operations, preparation of financial statements and management of cash flows for all operating companies and funds for Aslan Realty Group and affiliated companies.
Prior to joining Aslan Realty Group, Mr. Warbrick was a Senior Tax Manager at Haskell & White LLP with 13 years of public accounting experience. During his tenure at Haskell & White, Mr. Warbrick had a focus in real estate, manufacturing and retail industries. Mr. Warbrick has significant experience working with small corporations and partnerships with an emphasis in real estate and tax-exempt organizations. Mr. Warbrick has also been heavily involved in individual, corporate and real estate tax planning and consulting.
Mr. Warbrick graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Diego State University and has maintained a CPA designation since 2000. He has been married to his wife Ashley for eight years and has two young children.
